If you’re a UK student or an Irish national living in the UK or Ireland, and you’re from a lower-income household, you may be able to get the Oxford university scholarships (Bursary).

This is a yearly payment that you don’t have to pay back, and it’s meant to help with the cost of living and studying while you’re at Oxford. If you’re not getting, or don’t want, a Crankstart Scholarship, the Oxford Bursary can still give you important financial support during your time at the university

Eligibility for the Oxford university scholarships

Eligible students who are studying the Undergraduate Certificate or Diploma in Theological Studies on a full-time basis will also be considered for an Oxford Bursary award.

3. Oxford Travel Supplement for UK bursary holders

Oxford Travel Supplement: Helping with Travel Costs

If you’re studying for your first undergraduate degree and live more than 80 miles from Oxford within the UK, you may be eligible for support with your travel costs. Students who receive the Oxford Bursary or are Crankstart Scholars will automatically receive an annual, non-repayable Oxford Travel Supplement to help cover travel expenses between their home and the University.

If you live between 80 and 150 miles from Oxford, you will receive £220 per year.
If you live more than 150 miles from Oxford, you will receive £550 per year.

Distances are measured in a straight line (“as the crow flies”) from your stated home address to Oxford. If you’re eligible, you will be notified of this extra funding shortly after you receive information about your bursary support.
